Living on the coast, swimming in the sea almost daily, I experience it in its constant changeability and it fascinates me so much that I often want to just capture the fleeting essence of each moment as long as I can feel it. This is when I got an idea of creating "24 Preludes", each piece reflecting on a given moment in time, on a specific emotion this moment evoked and on one of the "24 Preludes" by Chopin.

I wanted to capture the sea the way I experience it just before entering its waters: as a liminal space where emotions, anticipations and physical sensations interweave, a space that echoes an inner landscape of a human. The title "Preludes" seemed very fitting. Music has always been an organic part of my daily life and it weaves into my work this way or another. I myself improvise on the piano to reflect on particular emotions. For the multi-sensorial experience, I recommend listening to one of Chopin's "24 Preludes, Op. 28" with the same number as each artwork.

This series is very spontaneous, very emotional, very direct. Hence the distinctive mark making to capture the rhythm - of the sea and music - and I hope you can feel and resonate with that!
