I painted this wave study on the Seacliff Beach on the east coast of Scotland, the most beautiful place I visited during my far too short stay in October. The North Sea waves on the day reminded me of herds of wild white horses - it was breathtaking, overwhelming a bit. After painting, when the sun came out of the heavy clouds and the sea calmed down, I couldn't resist a sea dip - what a joy!
